Jenny Manning

PSYCHOLOGY ASSOCIATE

LICENSED GRADUATE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Jenny is a nationally certified school psychologist, licensed professional counselor and psychology associate, with over 7 years of experience providing mental health services for children and adolescents.

Jenny grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and attended University of Delaware for her undergraduate degree. She returned to Baltimore to earn her master’s degree and Certificate of Advanced Studies from Towson University. After graduating, Jenny worked in the public school system as a school psychologist, where she administered psychological assessments, developed IEPs/504s, created academic and behavioral interventions, and provided counseling.

Jenny transferred to private practice in 2021 and became particularly skilled in supporting clients with anxiety disorders, social skills difficulties, attentional disorders, executive functioning weaknesses, behavioral disorders, learning disorders, panic, and low self-esteem. She believes in a flexible treatment approach, as one size does not fit all. Jenny pulls from different therapeutic interventions such as play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, social skills training, exposure therapy, and interpersonal resolution. When working with children, she considers parents to be part of the treatment team. She frequently offers parent sessions and check-ins to help generalize skills and provide support and guidance. Jenny prioritizes a strong therapeutic relationship. She believes trust, comfortability, and feeling safe are the most important factors in creating a successful therapy experience. She also values being part of a treatment team, which may involve collaboration with other professionals, such as school counselors, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, and pediatricians.

In addition to providing therapy, Jenny conducts comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties. She uses assessment data to drive her recommendations that will support the client within the home and/or school setting. Jenny believes the most effective supportive approaches are ones that embrace and nurture the child’s individual strengths, while simultaneously providing support to any lagging skills.
